Their first meeting was fortuitous in more than one way involving a particular well-known dive bar (“Hi-Fi” now re-branded as “Del Mar”) in the Marina neighborhood of San Francisco (spoiler alert they later moved to the neighborhood when they moved in together). What followed was an epic first date (Ace Wasabi sushi restaurant in the Marina) that was the start of something great. 

It was really the first date where Eli became infatuated with Tatiana. They barely ate their food, they were so taken with each other. They found they had much in common and most importantly they were both so at ease with each other, instantly.

Things they had in common included they were both Marin County natives and had family ties to the East Coast. In fact they both had childhood Summer vacations on the East Coast (the Hamptons for Tatiana and the Outer Banks for Eli). They enjoyed eating out at restaurants as well as cooking at home. As their relationship flourished they discovered they had created a special connection.

Fast forward a few years and they moved into their first apartment together on Mallorca (in the Marina again) which was their home for several years. They had a great time enjoying young adulthood and living in the big city.

When they first met, they were young, in their 20s, just starting their lives and careers. Over the course of the next few years, they made big moves together in their lives in career and education that shaped who they are today. Tati is a marketing director at a global company and Eli did his master's degree and advanced to senior management at his firm.
